The team behind our products is committed to more than just service — we care deeply about the communities around us. In tribute to Madiba’s 67 years of service, we at the MTO Group stood united, dedicating 67 minutes of our own to uplift and support our communities.
From George to Hazyview and Stellenbosch, our teams came together with partners and stakeholders to make a meaningful difference where it matters most.

George, Western Cape – Supporting the Elderly in Thembalethu
In George, we joined hands with community partners at the Masizakhe Community Service Centre in Thembalethu, an old age home in need of care and support.

Our team donated painting supplies, a fruit tree, and seeds to help restore their food garden — a small but significant step toward food sustainability. The Department of Correctional Services added support with soup, seedlings, and labour, while other generous stakeholders contributed food parcels to those in need.

This collaboration brought warmth, dignity, and resources to some of our most vulnerable elders.
Hazyview, Mpumalanga – Uplifting a Centre for Disability Empowerment
In Mariti, Hazyview, the MTO North team visited Ebenezer Aid Solutions NPC, a disability centre that empowers individuals of all ages through inclusion, learning, and support.

Our teams hosted a clothing drive, shared meals, and offered time and care to those served by the centre. The experience was humbling, energising, and a true reminder of what Mandela Day stands for — collective action for the greater good.

Stellenbosch, Western Cape – Responding to Crisis With Compassion
In Jonkershoek, Stellenbosch, our team responded swiftly when a community member’s home was lost in a fire.

Without hesitation, MTO staff contained the flames, helped clear the debris, and stepped in to provide a donation of groceries to help the family begin rebuilding.
This act of solidarity reminds us that Mandela Day is not only about planned initiatives — it's about stepping up when our neighbours need us most.
Mandela Day: Together, We Rebuild More Than Structures
Across regions and teams, Mandela Day 2025 was a powerful reflection of our belief that community upliftment is part of who we are at MTO. Whether we’re planting trees or lending a hand in crisis, we carry the values of dignity, service, and connection into everything we do.
Together, we rebuild more than homes and gardens —we rebuild dignity, hope, and connection.
